High Fiber and Soy Vegetarian Diet Reduces "Bad" Cholesterol

A nutritional sciences professor at the University of Toronto led a study that found a vegetarian diet high in fiber and soy can lower “bad” cholesterol or LDL as effectively as the drug lovastatin. Another professor at the University of Kentucky recommended that dietary intervention should come first before drugs in treating elevated cholesterol levels.
