Diabetics Find Safe Joint Relief With Glucosamine

Last week in the Archives of Internal Medicine, diabetics learned they can safely treat their joint problems and even osteoarthritis with the natural supplement glucosamine. Glucosamine is produced by the body and is found predominantly in joint cartilage. Current pharmaceutical treatments can put diabetics at risk for toxic effects. In a recent clinical study, participants taking 20 milligrams of the supplement per kilogram of body weight daily did not cause changes in their glucose levels.
