Public Health Cuts by Mayor Bloomberg

Mark Hannay discusses the upcoming National Public Health week with healthcare union leaders Darrel Ramsey (president of local 768 of DC 37 representing health service employees) and Gloria Acevedo (president Local 436 united federation of nurses and epidemiologists of DC 37). Topics for discussion include cuts to childrens public health programs and schools by the Bloomberg administration. The labor organizers urge parents of school-age children to call Mayor Michael Bloomberg to protest the cuts at 212-788-3000 and to call City Council Leader Gifford Miller at 212-788-2210 to demand funds for salaries of public health assistants and nurses be preserved.
